Softdrinks - Refreshingly Dangerous!

I just came back from a trip in the US and would like to share with you what shocked me the most.
There were opportunities to have soft drinks absolutely everywhere: served at breakfast, available in drink dispensers in the corridor of the hotel and in the office, cans offered at meetings breaks…
Oh, and it goes with plenty of ice!
These might appeal as being refreshing, however there are an absolute NO!

Here is why:
Would you like to know what is in a can of famous cola?
First, your can is heavily loaded in sugar: not less than about 37 grams! Needless to say that this, if taken on a daily basis, can lead to numerous health issues.
Then, the characteristic sour taste is obtained with phosphoric acid. This acid is so strong that it can clean surfaces better than many toxic household cleaners! Sure to erode your teeth if you drink it every day.
Finally, cola contains caffeine. A single can contains roughly two-thirds a normal cup of coffee.
Regular consumption of these ingredients can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and obesity, only to name a few.
Then, what to drink?
It might not even be an option in your office drink dispenser, but always go for water!
Sure you will find a fountain nearby. Enjoy it at room temperature, or even better, warm.
